Project: "Clueless"

It all started with a conversation I was having with my boyfriend...We were discussing the differences in the ways we get dressed in the morning. He likes to have clothing that is all pretty similar so that no matter how he puts a shirt and pants together they will look good. Now this is a fine way of doing things, however it leaves little room to step outside the box and get creative.  It is easily repeated and quickly done which for most men is what the goal is in the morning, to not have to think about what to wear.  I am just the opposite of him.  Everyday I am trying to create a masterpiece of color and texture that will evoke exactly the mood I am in and look I am trying to achieve.  Some days this happens so easily but other days I find myself struggling to get all the pieces to fit together the way I wanted them. I would think to myself "how did I put this together last time"?  So as our conversation progressed I recalled one of my favorite movies as a young girl, Clueless.  If you have not seen this movie then go right now and watch it, then come back and finish reading.  It was a dream of mine to have a closet like Cher's where all her clothes were on a circular moving track, like one you would see at a dry cleaner. Not only did she have such an array of different clothing but she had a computer system where she could try different pieces of clothing together to see if it was a match.  How ingenious for the mid 90's! So here I am 18 years later trying to create my own modern day card catalogue of perfectly crafted ensembles. Every day I will photograph my look and post my pictures at the end of the week. As I play many roles in my life, my outfits will reflect the daily role I am in.  I am excited for my journey into creating beauty in my own special way.  Stay tuned for style, imagination, and fun for the months ahead.  This is day one and here is the first outfit. I had to work at school today and I call this look:
